we are precious in his sight!

“Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” Matthew 10:29-31

It’s time to see how much God loves me

Sometimes it feels like no one sees me at all. No one sees my heart; no one knows my motives. Sometimes it just feels like I’m all alone in this thing called life. I’m misinterpreted; I’m judged unfairly; Contrary to some people’s opinion of me, I do have feelings, and I do get hurt. Can’t we all relate? Don’t we all have these thoughts, sometimes? There’s a song that says, “Momma said there’ll be days like this; there’ll be days like this, my momma said.” You know what, the momma they were talking about in that song was right! There will be days like this…

It’s on these particular days (and quite frankly these days can turn into weeks and months in some circumstances) that we need to really take these verses from Matthew to heart and claim the meaning behind them as our own. We need to see how important we are to our Heavenly Father. We need to understand, again, that there is nothing that comes into our lives that catches Him off-guard. If we are His children, He is watching over us and caring for us.

How often do we walk by a penny, a “copper coin,” because it’s just not worth the effort to bend over and pick up? Here, in Matthew, we have a sparrow that is only worth a HALF penny, and yet God still knows its whereabouts and what’s happening with it. I can see His hand reaching out to catch it and aright it in the air, because it’s not His will for that little bird to fall. What a beautiful picture… yet we are way more precious ☺

We further see that even though the number of hairs on our heads changes all the time, God knows the number at any point! If He needed to answer the question, He wouldn’t need to stop and count. He just knows… ALL THE TIME! He is aware of us. He is aware of ME. He knows where I am and what’s happening with me. He knows my mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual state ALL THE TIME. “He sees each tear that falls…” I am not alone, and nothing outside of His will for my life will happen as long as I am His child.

If you’re feeling like this, and I know someone reading this must be, let me pray for us.

Father in Heaven, Thank You that You are always watching over us, not because we’re a “pet project” but because we are precious in Your sight. You love us. Help us to remember that there is nothing that we experience that You are too busy to notice. There is no time when Your eye is not upon us. When others don’t get us, You do. You made us who we are. You see our hearts and know our desires. Lord I ask that You would touch where Your touch is needed. I pray You would comfort and assure, that You would reaffirm and reestablish. May we feel Your Presence in the darkest and loneliest of times and rest until You call us out of the desert, more refined and prepared to follow wherever You lead. I pray this in the name of Jesus, Who so fully identifies with what we are feeling, Amen

For now, I'll be sharing some Blogs I wrote a while ago. I hope you enjoy reading them for the first time or being reminded of some "always relevent" truths from God's Word!
